Her racing career is unusual because of her late start; she did not start racing until she was 24 and her experience prior to racing was mostly academic; Duno holds Master's Degrees in Organizational Development, Naval Architecture, Maritime Business, and Marine Biology, and she has prior experience working as a naval engineer. According to several reports, Patrick marched over to the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing pit stall after Saturday morning's practice session to complain about Duno's driving, specifically that Duno did not let faster cars -- including Patrick's -- pass her. “I invented those,” Zorn said. “I've got the patent pending on the 'Z Shade.' They're calling it the 'Z Shade.' ”Patrick was revved up for a hot confrontation when Duno surprised her by snapping a towel repeatedly in her face. This seemed to take the spit fire by surprise and set her back on her heels.
