This is the second time recently that Patrick let her temper boil over. The last time was during the Indianapolis 500, when she was stopped by race officials before she could confront driver Ryan Briscoe.Duno is a former model and has thus attracted much attention. Her racing career is unusual because of her late start; she did not start racing until she was 24 and her experience prior to racing was mostly academic; Duno holds Master's Degrees in Organizational Development, Naval Architecture, Maritime Business, and Marine Biology, and she has prior experience working as a naval engineer. According to several reports, Patrick marched over to the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing pit stall after Saturday morning's practice session to complain about Duno's driving, specifically that Duno did not let faster cars -- including Patrick's -- pass her. “I invented those,” Zorn said. “I've got the patent pending on the 'Z Shade.' They're calling it the 'Z Shade.' ”Patrick was revved up for a hot confrontation when Duno surprised her by snapping a towel repeatedly in her face. This seemed to take the spit fire by surprise and set her back on her heels.
OK, so pressed for details, Zorn acknowledged he has not filed patent paperwork.
